Safety in Armenia: what to check before you go
Your own government's travel advice is the authority on safety for your trip. Governments advise differently, and their advice changes, so read the one that applies to you, close to your travel dates.
Your government's travel advice for Armenia
- United Kingdom: Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office
- United States: Department of State
- Canada: Travel advice and advisories
- Australia: Smartraveller
If your country is not listed, its foreign ministry may publish its own advice.
What to look for in it
- any areas or roads it advises against, and whether your route passes through them;
- land border crossings, if you plan to cross overland;
- whether you can register your trip with your embassy or consular service.
Check with your insurer that your policy covers your route and planned activities, including any areas your government advises against visiting.
On the road
Armenia's Rescue Service publishes a daily bulletin on whether the country's roads are passable. Check it before a long drive, especially outside summer.

What this page is not
Safar does not rate safety, and it does not combine different governments' advice into one rule.
